Kim Porter’s children defend themselves against speculation about their mother’s death

The children Kim Porter had with Sean “Diddy” Combs speak out against speculation about her death in a new book and on the Internet.

Quincy Brown, 33, and his siblings Christian, 26, and 17-year-old twins Jessie and D’Lila Combs released a joint statement on social media about their mother, who died in 2018 at the age of 47.

Porter’s cause of death was determined to be pneumonia.

The tragedy was recently revisited in the wake of Combs’ legal troubles.

The businessman and producer faces life in prison if found guilty in the Southern District of New York on charges of conspiracy to commit organized crime, sex trafficking and transportation for the purpose of prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty.

His children wrote in their statement: “We have heard so many hurtful and false rumors about the relationship between our parents, Kim Porter and Sean Combs, and the tragic death of our mother that we feel the need to speak out.”

“Claims that our mother wrote a book are simply false. She did not,” her statement continued. “And anyone who claims to have a manuscript is misrepresenting themselves.”

“Kim’s Lost Words: A Journey to Justice from the Other Side,” a self-published book billed as Porter’s memoir, became a bestseller on Amazon.

There has been debate on social media about the cause of Porter’s death, and her children have dismissed such speculation about a loss that they said left them “shaken.”

“It was incredibly difficult to understand how she could have been taken from us so early,” they wrote in their statement. “The cause of death has long been established. There was no crime.”

They also criticized those who, in their opinion, had spread false information.

“We are deeply saddened that the world has made a spectacle out of the most tragic event of our lives,” they added. “Our mother should be remembered as the beautiful, strong, kind and loving woman she was. Her memory should not be tainted by horrific conspiracy theories.”

The siblings did not mention their father’s legal problems.

Combs and Porter dated on and off from 1994 to 2007, during which time their son and twin daughters were born. Combs helped raise Brown, whom Porter had with singer Al B. Sure.
