Whether your fantasy team is 2-0, 1-1, or 0-2, it’s important to focus on making the right starting or sitting decisions for fantasy football in Week 3. Khalil Shakir, Tank Dell, and Jaylen Waddle are all on the starting or sitting bubble ahead of Sunday’s big-game action.
Shakir could establish himself as Josh Allen’s No. 1 wide receiver, Dell is slipping down the rankings after a rough start to the season, and Waddle will have to play at least the next four games with a backup quarterback. The results for these three wideouts are very different.
Should you start with Shakir, Dell or Waddle in Week 3? Let’s dive in.

Shakir is the Bills’ best player in catches and receiving yards and should not let up against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Jacksonville has allowed the third-most catches and yards to wide receivers through the first two weeks and defends the slot averagely. The Bills have evolved into a run-centric offense under offensive coordinator Joe Brady.
Shakir has caught most of the limited targets through the first two weeks, making him the safest among Buffalo’s wide receivers. Another double-digit PPR fantasy game is easily within reach. Shakir is a low-end WR3/Flex candidate for Week 3 lineups.

He is the WR34 in our semi-PPR consensus staff rankings.
Dell, who ranks 63rd among receivers in fantasy points, has had a tough task over the last two games. In Week 2, Dell had a pathetic minus-3 receiving yards, an 11% target share, and a poor drop that would have been a significant gain. Houston seems determined to keep the second-year deep threat, however, as he was on the field for 66% of snaps and even had five carries for 35 yards.
With Houston running backs Joe Mixon (ankle) and Dameon Pierce (hamstring) dealing with injuries, Dell appears to have an opportunity against a Vikings defense that has allowed the eighth-most passing yards in the NFL. He should be considered a WR3/Flex in this matchup.
He is the WR22 in our semi-PPR consensus staff rankings.
Waddle will be hard to trust as a high-profile fantasy option in Week 3, when the team faces the Seattle Seahawks in a road game. He will look to build an affinity between himself and quarterback Skylar Thompson over the next few weeks after it was announced that Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) was placed on the injured list.
Waddle, like his teammate Tyreek Hill, has the rare ability to convert every touch into points. Head coach Mike McDaniel will therefore send his wideouts out early and often this Sunday. Nevertheless, expectations for him and the Miami offense must be tempered. Seattle has allowed the second fewest passing yards (257) in the first two weeks this season.
