Katie Price was arrested for failing to appear at a court hearing.
The 46-year-old star, who recently failed to appear at a hearing relating to her bankruptcies, was arrested at Heathrow Airport on Thursday (08.08.24) as she returned to the UK.
Price was remanded in custody and is due to appear before the Royal Courts of Justice on Friday.
The former glamour model was recently spotted in Turkey with bandages on her face and it is believed that she flew to the country to undergo surgery.
In July, a warrant was issued for Price’s arrest after she failed to appear for a court hearing.
The TV star was due to appear before a bankruptcy court in London on July 30 after being warned that she must attend the hearing or face arrest.
Insolvency and Companies Court Judge Catherine Burton confirmed that Price had received “very clear warnings” about what would happen if she did not attend the hearing.
The judge added: “In my view, it is necessary for the court to issue a warrant for Ms. Price’s arrest.”
“She has no real excuse for not attending the hearing today. The reason for her absence today is irrelevant.”
Price missed a hearing in March because she was “busy with a serious matter.”
Attorney Darragh Connell, who is representing the trustee in Price’s two bankruptcy cases, confirmed to the court that Price is being held in custody to ensure she attends a hearing at a later date.
He said Price would not be held in custody for an extended period of time.
He added: “Their freedom is at stake, but unfortunately we have reached the end of our options on this matter.”
Price was declared bankrupt in 2019 and again in March over an unpaid tax bill of over £750,000.
However, she had previously questioned the logic of her detention.
She said: “It would cost them more money to put me in prison than to release me.”
