Shortly after 7 a.m., an APD officer called for help, and the Alexandria Fire Department responded to a cardiac arrest call, according to radio reports.
The man’s body was found near a children’s playground, just a few meters from where a man accidentally drowned in April.
Located near residential complexes, the place is littered with alcohol containers and garbage and is a popular meeting place.
“Currently, police are present at 4131 Mount Vernon as APD is conducting a death investigation,” APD said on social media. “The preliminary cause of death appears to be medical in nature. There is no active threat to the public.”
