Jon Bon Jovi is praised for speaking a woman from the bridge

Rock legend Jon Bon Jovi was praised by police for helping a distressed woman who was on the edge of a bridge in Nashville, Tennessee, on Tuesday night.

The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department released video of the Bon Jovi frontman and his team at the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge when the woman stood dangerously over the Cumberland River.

Bon Jovi, 62, and others spoke to the woman and helped her return to the bridge, police said.

“We all have to do our part to protect each other,” Ch John Drake said in a brief statement.

According to other footage posted on social media, Bon Jovi was apparently in Nashville to shoot a music video on the bridge.

In the video released by police, a woman in blue can be seen holding on to the railing on the ledge.

Other people walk past her and a little further down the bridge, Bon Jovi’s team appears to be setting up their camera equipment.

Bon Jovi walks towards the woman with someone else while his team stands further away.

Then you see the singer waving to her and leaning on the railing next to her.

After about a minute, Bon Jovi goes to the woman and with the help of another woman, the two bring her back to the walkway on the bridge.

After the woman is safe and Bon Jovi hugs her, other people come over.

A few minutes later, police footage shows Bon Jovi leaving the bridge with her.

In a comment on the video on social media, Metro Nashville Police said: “Thank you to Jon Bon Jovi and his team for assisting a woman on the Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge Tuesday night.”

“Bon Jovi helped persuade them to come down from the ledge above the Cumberland River to safety.”
