Jets star shares cryptic post amid Davante Adams trade rumors

New York Jets Cornerback Sauce Gardner appeared to fuel the flames on Tuesday after reports that Las Vegas Raiders wideout Davante Adams told the team this week that he was seeking a trade.

The trade rumors stemmed from head coach Antonio Pierce’s recent social media activity, who appeared to have liked a post on Instagram that he was talking about a potential Adams trade.

The like has since been removed, but Adams was asked about it and his subsequent interaction with Pierce during an interview on Tuesday, in which he revealed there was “no communication” with the Raiders.

“I’ll keep my head down and keep doing my thing and let the chips fall where they may, as far as that goes,” he said. “But there has been no communication with anyone on the team since this (post) became a thing.”

Adams, who paused during this the Raiders He added that he found the rumors about the move “upsetting.” But just hours after those comments, reports surfaced that Adams had informed the Raiders that he “preferred” to be traded.

The Jets have been linked to Adams since the beginning of this season due to the veteran’s extensive experience at quarterback Aaron Rodgers. And one of the team’s star defensive players is adding to the rumor mill with his post on X.

In response to Adams’ trade reports, Sauce Gardner posted a picture of one of his tattoos. The tattoo showed a figure making a quiet movement.

The Jets would certainly be on Adams’ short list, and after a brutal performance by the New York offense in Sunday’s loss to the Denver Broncos, Rodgers would certainly request a bye.
