Janel Grant’s lawyer: Netflix documentary does not tell the whole story of Vince’s crimes

Ann Callis, the attorney for former WWE employee Janel Grant in her sex trafficking lawsuit against Vince McMahon, John Laurinaitis and WWE, issued a statement regarding the Netflix documentary series Mr McMahon Earlier this week before its release.

With the entire show now available to stream on the service, Callis provided another one to Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics, arguing that Mr McMahon demonstrates something McMahon (unlike several of his closest colleagues) believes to be untrue – namely, that he and his film character are one and the same person. Callis also says the six episodes do not adequately address Vince’s alleged crimes, including the abuse of Grant described in her lawsuit:

The Mr McMahon The docuseries makes it clear that there is no difference between Vince McMahon’s on-air persona and his real self, they are one and the same. His “character” – known for violent outbursts, sexual deviance and manipulation – is the real Vince McMahon and exactly what Janel Grant experienced behind closed doors at WWE for years.

While the docuseries blatantly displays McMahon’s obsession with power and control, it only scratches the surface of his criminal behavior and does not tell the full story of his abuse, sexual assault and trafficking of Ms. Grant. She deserves the opportunity to tell her story, in her own time and in her own way. We look forward to her day in court and to McMahon finally being held accountable for his actions.

The Grant case is currently on hold until the federal investigation into McMahon is completed.
