Tensions appear to be high for the 0-4 Jacksonville Jaguars.

While covering the Jaguars-Miami Dolphins game on Sunday, CBS Sports’ Aditi Kinkhabwala reported that quarterback Trevor Lawrence threw a tablet and wide receiver Gabe Davis yelled at him during an exchange.

Davis was even held back by offensive lineman Brandon Scherff, although they eventually came to an agreement on the matter.

Andreas Joseph from USA Today’s For the Win noted that the play that led to the altercation was a third-down play in the first half.

Davis was wide open, but Lawrence instead threw a shorter check downfield. The quarterback was obviously upset with himself when he saw the play since he was the one who threw the tablet, and the wide receiver also aggravated the situation.

Jacksonville signed Davis as one of the team’s key additions this offseason, but he wasn’t on the same wavelength as Lawrence earlier this season.

He entered Sunday with just nine catches for 121 yards and zero touchdowns on the season, a far cry from his performance with the Buffalo Bills. He had more than 500 receiving yards in each of his four seasons with Buffalo, including in 2022 when he rushed for 836 yards.

Davis also scored 27 total touchdowns with the Bills.

Luckily for Jacksonville, the incident didn’t stop the team from taking a 13-10 lead into the halftime locker room, thanks in large part to Lawrence’s 85-yard touchdown pass to rookie Brian Thomas Jr.
