The two injuries mean Colorado will be even more undermanned on defense. Shilo Sanders will also miss the game on Saturday due to injury, Coach Prime specified after the Nebraska game.

“I think Hardge pulled something on his foot on one of the punts. Shilo, I think, pulled something on his forearm – I don’t know how bad the injury is, but I know he pulled something on his forearm that put him out of action for the rest of the game. Chidoze, I think it’s an AC joint or something. I think he’s going to be OK and I think he’ll play next week as a result. I don’t know about Shilo,” Sanders said.

“And Shedeur got a little hurt in this, what did you call it, deliberate helmet-to-helmet attack. He got a little hurt. So we just wanted to take care of him and get him out of there.”

Colorado, however, will likely get some good news. Linebacker LaVonta Bentley is allegedly expected to play in Saturday’s game after seeing some time in practice this week. Sanders gave a promising update earlier in the week and also hinted that Hardge may not be able to play against Colorado State.

“I don’t know if (Isaiah) Hardge will play this week,” Sanders said. “Bentley? He practiced today. He’s starting to get it together. He’s still limping a little bit,” Sanders added. “We’ll probably give him tomorrow off because we know what we expect from him on Saturday.”

Bentley spent four years at Clemson before transferring to Colorado ahead of the 2023 season. This year, he has 10 total tackles, eight solo tackles, one tackle for loss and one sack.

Bentley set career highs with Colorado last season, recording 68 tackles, 11 tackles for loss and five sacks.

The Buffaloes lost 28-10 on the road to Nebraska last week. They will finish the non-conference portion of their schedule on Saturday night against Colorado State before returning for the Big 12 opener against Baylor in week 4.
