Officers from the 104th Precinct responded to the scene of a shooting at a Glendale residence on Wednesday, August 7.

A 24-year-old man narrowly escaped death on Wednesday, Aug. 7, when three intruders entered his Glendale home and shot him, grazing his head and neck, police reported.
The incident occurred around 2:45 p.m. in the Liberty Park neighborhood of Glendale, near 65th Street and Cooper Avenue.
According to authorities, three unknown suspects broke into the victim’s home and attempted to steal it. When they spotted the resident, they shot him, grazing him in the neck and head, and then fled the scene in an unmarked vehicle.
A police spokesman said emergency services took the victim to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in stable condition and he is expected to survive.

According to NYPD CompStat data, the 104th Precinct has seen a significant increase in burglaries, assaults and shoplifting overall. Over the past 28 days, police have received twice as many burglaries as during the same period last year – 34 cases compared to 17 last July.
Compared to the summer months of last year, the number of shootings in the 104th Precinct has remained low.
