Although the Bruins lost their first preseason game, several players performed well and stood out. Bruins prospect Trevor Kuntar was one of them, as the 23-year-old delivered a solid game for the Original Six club.

In the second half of the second period, Kuntar scored a goal to tie the game at 2-2. The 2020 third-round pick showed great determination on this play as he worked hard in front of the net before retrieving the puck after a deflection and firing it into the net.

That’s exactly the type of game the Bruins want to see from a talent like Kuntar. He’s built a reputation for his presence in front of the net, his high work ethic and his tenacity. He showed that in this matchup against the Rangers and will now look to build on that.

Kuntar is one of several Bruins junior players looking to make the jump to the NHL this season, and if he continues to play well in this training camp, it would not be a surprise to see him earn at least his first NHL call-up during the regular season.

Kuntar played 70 games for the Providence Bruins last season, scoring 10 goals, 20 points and 113 penalty minutes.
