India vs Bangladesh Live Score 2nd Test Day 5: India pull off a heist in Kanpur, Pocket Series 2-0

India vs Bangladesh Live Score, 2nd Test, Day 5: India defeated Bangladesh by seven wickets in the rain-hit second Test in Kanpur to complete a 2-0 series win on Tuesday.

Spinner Ravindra Jadeja and seamer Jasprit Bumrah caused chaos in the extended morning session as Bangladesh lost eight wickets and were bowled out for a paltry 146.

So on the final day, India needed 95 and they did it in more than one session, saving themselves the loss of three wickets in the process.

Yashasvi Jaiswal led the fightback with a fluent 51, his second half-century of the game, before being sent off, while Virat Kohli remained unbeaten on 29.

This was India’s record-breaking 18th consecutive Test series win on home soil.

Earlier, Bangladesh suffered an early setback after winning 26-2 in a game they lost for two-and-a-half days due to bad weather.

Ravichandran Ashwin (3-50) picked up his third wicket of the innings when he caught Mominul Haque at leg slip for two.

Shadman Islam (50) and skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto (19) put up a brief resistance with a 55-run stand before poor shot selection and clever bowling changes by India led to their dismissals.

Jadeja (3-34) bowled Shanto after the batsman botched a reverse sweep that he shouldn’t have even attempted given the difficult situation they found themselves in.

Shadman completed his fifty before playing away from his body and dismissing seamer Akash Deep at the only slip to Yashasvi Jaiswal.

Left-arm spinner Jadeja defeated Litton Das and Shakib Al Hasan in successive overs and seamer Bumrah sent back Mehidy Hasan Miraz to keep Bangladesh pinned.

Mushfiqur Rahim (37) stayed on for a while before Bumrah (3-17) took him out with the final delivery of the session.
