I’m angry at my neighbor JD Vance for forcing the closure of our park – no real Republican would let that happen, he should move

JD Vance’s neighbors have sharply criticized the vice presidential candidate after the Secret Service closed and cordoned off a park near his home.

The city announced that it would close Judy Lowe Neighborhood Park in Alexandria, Virginia.

A neighboring block of houses is also to be closed to residents – after the Secret Service tightened measures against Donald Trump’s vice presidential candidate.

“Effective Sunday, August 25, and in response to a request from the United States Secret Service (USSS), Judy Lowe Neighborhood Park, located at 1 & 7 E. Del Ray Ave., will be temporarily closed until further notice,” said a city statement, according to local news website ALXnow.

However, local residents were very upset about the sudden change and expressed their frustration on social media and on ALXnow.com.

“I’m all for keeping people safe, but if this park is such a danger, it should probably move,” one person wrote on ALXnow.

“The park belongs to the city and people of Alexandria, not its security personnel. And to be quite frank, a true Republican would not want the government to violate other people’s rights,” they added.

Another social media user tried to defuse the situation.

“Oh, for heaven’s sake. That’s enough. The man is running for Vice President of the United States,” they said.

“Regardless of your political affiliation, you should be proud that your neighbor is willing to run for office. Shame on you for being so ugly.”

DANGER!

This is not the first time JD Vance has come under criticism on social media.

He recently came under fire online for a puzzling interaction with employees at a Georgia donut shop.

JD Vance takes his dog Atlas on the campaign trail to combat ‘strange’ attacks – after Tim Walz’s pet Scout graced the cover of Vogue

In a clip captured by C-SPAN on Thursday, Vance visited Holt’s Sweet Shop and thanked the woman behind the counter for allowing him to visit.

She quickly told him: “I don’t want to be filmed.”

Vance then turns to his crew and says, “She doesn’t want to be filmed, guys, so just cut her out of everything.” He then abruptly explains, “I’m JD Vance, I’m running for Vice President, good to see you.”

The clip was widely shared on X, with users calling it “embarrassing” and “shameful.”

JD VANCE VS TIM WALZ

Both Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Senator JD Vance had full lives before becoming politicians.

Walz and Vance both served in the military. Walz was in the Army National Guard for 24 years and JD Vance was in the U.S. Marine Corps for four years.

The two veterans share a love for Diet Mountain Dew.

However, Walz spent most of his early adult life as a high school teacher and taught for a year in China after graduating from college.

In 1999, he served as faculty advisor for the first Gay Straight Alliance at the high school where he worked.

Walz did not venture into politics until 2004, when he volunteered for John Kerry’s presidential campaign.

In 2006, he ran for Congress and defeated incumbent Republican Gil Gutknecht. He remained in Congress until 2019, when he was elected governor of Minnesota.

Vance, on the other hand, grew up in Ohio after a turbulent childhood and went to college after serving in the Marines.

After graduating from Ohio State University, he attended Yale Law School, where he began writing his best-selling memoir.

Vance worked briefly in politics before moving to the technology sector in California, where he met venture capitalist Peter Thiel.

In 2016, he published his book and became a household name in pop culture.

Vance, once a staunch opponent of Donald Trump, ran for Senate in 2022 on a pro-MAGA platform and was elected with Trump’s blessing.

Despite the backlash, Vance has set his sights on the upcoming election, which many say is increasingly being viewed from a “boys versus girls” perspective.

Debates and discussions surrounding the issue of gender have become one of the most divisive factors in politics.

His criticism of leading female Democrats as “childless cat ladies” had deeply angered many women – some of whom resorted to the age-old sexist stereotype.

After the controversial interview, Vance admitted that he had poorly worded some of his words.

“I regret … that many people misunderstood it,” he said.

“I have a lot of regrets, Kristen, but making a joke three years ago is not in the top ten of the list,” he added.

Full steam ahead

The Republican candidate said he was “thrilled” about the support of the “Kennedy Democrats” after former independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. ended his campaign on Friday and endorsed former President Trump’s bid for the White House.

Vance said he had no qualms about accepting Kennedy’s endorsement, despite some controversial statements Kennedy had made in the past.

Vance said he strongly disagreed with Kennedy’s earlier statement that he would “not take sides” on 9/11, but stressed the importance of disagreeing on some issues.

“Because we’re going to disagree on some issues, right?” he asked NBC News’ Kristen Welker.

“There are things Robert Kennedy said that I don’t agree with. I’m sure there are things I said that he won’t agree with. But I think his support shows that Donald J. Trump’s Republican Party is a big tent party.”
