Will the IU vs. Maryland game be canceled due to the storm?

No. As of Friday morning, IU had not announced plans to cancel or postpone its noon game against the Maryland Terrapins at Memorial Stadium due to inclement weather.

IU typically only cancels or postpones games during severe weather events, including lightning and thunder.

Updates on cancellations or delays will be posted on the IU Athletics website at iuhoosiers.com/sports/football/schedule.

Are umbrellas and ponchos allowed at IU Memorial Stadium?

Umbrellas are not allowed inside IU Memorial Stadium, but raincoats and ponchos are permitted.

Please see IU’s bag policy for more information on permitted items.

Is tailgating allowed for the IU vs. Maryland game?

Yes. As of Friday morning, IU has not banned or discouraged tailgating in the Memorial Stadium parking lot before the game.

However, the National Weather Service in Indianapolis urges motorists to remember that high-profile vehicles such as RVs, RVs and trucks with cargo trailers or other trailers are at particular risk for wind gusts.
