Marvel Studios’ Deadpool & Wolverine is aiming to add a few more gold awards to its already colossal box office success this year’s awards season.

Looking to replicate the success of the 2016 original, Disney is determined to bring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman’s multiverse spectacle into competition with major awards shows. Shawn Levy’s billion-dollar summer blockbuster is up for consideration at the Golden Globes in the Comedy category, with Reynolds’ performance as Wade Wilson, aka Deadpool, vying for one of six spots in the Actor (Comedy or Musical) category. As for Oscar attention, “Deadpool & Wolverine” will also seek nominations in technical categories, including production design, sound and visual effects.
