Over the summer, Travis Scott released the “Canary” colorway of his highly coveted version of the Air Jordan 1 Low. We called it a prequel because its playful look was reminiscent of the rapper’s school days.

Now, for the new season, we get a soft restart. From? The “olive” Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low – a colorway that should mark the end of an era when it launches in spring 2023. And if so, then this brand new release – landing at Nike retailers this weekend – marks a new one.

Together, Nike and Cactus Jack (the musician’s record label that has become a multidisciplinary brand) have developed the name “Medium Olive”, which follows the nomenclature of the collaboration as it highlights the shade used, which really gives the shoe some individuality .

Sneakerheads and Scott devotees alike will compare the moniker to that of the sneaker line’s golf spin-off, “Neutral Olive.” But “Medium Olive” has the most in common with the aforementioned “Olive” colorway that debuted in April of last year. In fact, you could call it the “reverse olive” because the blacks and greens that color the original have been swapped.

As with all good reboots, fan-favorite details remain, including the upside-down Swoosh on the lateral sidewall, Cactus Jack branding on the medial sidewall and tongue, and embroidery on the heel. Plus, the packaging stays true to tradition: you get the usual sail and brown box, filled with pink double-branded paper that covers the sneakers and the spare laces (you get pink and black along with the pre-installed white pair).

In summary, it has all the hallmarks of a new classic. And we’d bet sneaker fans will love it just as much as the original. We definitely are.
