How Harry Maguire saved 10-man Manchester United in a six-goal Europa League thriller against Porto

A quick look at our Discussion tab brought us the latest reaction from a Manchester United fan, a Porto supporter and a neutral observer. There’s no prize for guessing which is which…

đź’¬ Sam M: “On behalf of most of the other fans, I would like to thank Maguire for the possible extension of a few weeks. Hero.”

đź’¬ Hugo P: “I’m writing a comment from the FC Porto fan perspective – how did we manage not to win this game? I’ll tell you why: there’s a ‘coach’ on the bench (actually he looks like a farmer) who manages to be worse than Ten Hag.”

đź’¬ Paul C: “I tried to remain dispassionate about it. Take the emotion out of things. After the FA Cup final I still thought he should go. And even after Spurs, I thought the first few games of this season did him some credit. I thought we were making progress and last season’s long injury list might have been a reasonable excuse. Maybe there could be a little more method and a little less madness.

“But Erik’s post-game interview just finished me off. Why stick with Rashford despite some terrible performances, only to replace him at half-time when he can finally fly? That’s not good squad management. This shows a complete lack of human management.

“And Harry looked like he was being held hostage.”
