Horrifying video from the cockpit of a British Airways plane shows Iranian missiles flying over Israel World News

Iran fired around 200 rockets at Israel on Tuesday evening, escalating the years-long conflict between Israel and Iran and its Arab allies. A chilling video has emerged, reportedly taken from a British Airways flight around Israel, showing an orange glow in the night sky – an indication that Iran did not confirm the airways were clear before the attack.

The video was reportedly shot by the pilot of the British Airways flight to Dubai New York Post. In the footage, several rockets that look like orange fireballs can be seen flying back to back in the night sky.

The British Airways flight was safely diverted, it said.

All airlines scrambled to reroute their flights from the Middle East after Iran fired a volley of ballistic missiles at Israel without warning. According to a spokesman for the tracking service FlightRadar24, flights were rerouted “wherever they could,” reported Reuters.

Around 80 flights operated by Emirates, British Airways, Lufthansa and Qatar Airways and bound for major Middle East hubs such as Dubai, Doha and Abu Dhabi were diverted to places such as Cairo and European cities.

Airports in Iran, Israel, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq and Syria immediately suspended flights to and from their airports. However, Iraq and Jordan later reopened their airspace to civilian flights via their airports.

Iran’s warning to Israel

Shortly after the rocket attack on Israel, Iran warned that it would carry out “devastating attacks” against Israel if it retaliated for the rocket attack. Iran said the attack was “completely defensive” and a response to Israel’s killing of militant leaders and attacks in Lebanon.

However, Israel has vowed to retaliate for Iran’s attack, saying it would respond at the “time and place of its choosing.” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the rocket attack was a failure and that Iran would soon learn a painful lesson, just as its enemies have learned in Gaza, Lebanon and elsewhere.

“Whoever attacks us. We attack them,” he said.
