Holland Bowl Mill unveils new items at Labor Day tent sale

HOLLAND – Holland Bowl Mill has a tradition of providing unique gifts to locals and tourists alike that spans over 150 years.

Over the years, the company has offered handcrafted wooden bowls in all shapes and sizes and expanded its offerings to include cutting boards, rolling pins, cutlery and plates. Recently, the company has expanded even further and turned its focus to furniture.

According to Kory Gier, who owns Holland Bowl Mill with his father, their new offerings include coffee tables, benches, desks and more.

“We’re always trying to find new ways to use all of our different materials,” Gier said. “We have such a great team that’s trained in so many different areas, and this is something we’ve been thinking about for quite some time.”

With the new offerings, the company will continue to offer visitors guided tours to show them how each unique piece is created. The company recently opened a second showroom to showcase even more of its offerings.

“It was really helpful to have another space during the busy summer season and during the holiday season where we could break up groups and offer new products to our regular customers,” Gier said. “It’s been really fun and it’s going really well.”

This weekend, Holland Bowl Mill is hosting a Labor Day flea market with discounts on a wide variety of items.

The store is offering up to 50% off products sold in the tent sale outside on Friday, August 30th from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday, August 31st from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., as well as 15% off in both showrooms. Gier said they also plan to have engravers on-site both days so people can have their items custom engraved when they purchase.

For Gier and his family, the upcoming event is an opportunity for the company to thank the local community for its long-standing support.

“It’s incredible,” Gier said. “I keep saying that we are so blessed to be part of the Holland community. I don’t think we would have lasted as long and been as successful if we were located anywhere else.”
