The 1930-built steam locomotive Empress 2816 arrived in Kansas City on Thursday as part of the Canadian Pacific Kansas City Final Spike Steam Tour.
On Saturday, May 18, from noon to 5 p.m. at Union Station, visitors can get a close look at the train and learn more about it, the history of CPKC and the role of Kansas City Southern. The event is free and will feature miniature train rides, crafts and other activities.
Since April, the train has been traveling across the country to celebrate the first anniversary of the Canadian Pacific Kansas City.
