METAIRIE, Louisiana – New Orleans Saints coach Dennis Allen said tight end Taysom Hill appeared to have escaped serious injury after leaving the Saints’ 44-19 win over the Dallas Cowboys with a chest injury.
Hill was taken to a local hospital in Arlington for evaluation as a precautionary measure at the end of the third quarter, but was able to fly home on the team plane on Sunday.
“He’s fine. He feels good. I don’t know if we have all the results on him yet. He had a few more pictures taken today. I think we avoided something really serious,” Allen said.
Allen did not provide any details about the nature of the injury or say what specific tests required hospitalization.
“He has a chest injury. It’s nothing serious. He’ll be in rehab like everyone else and then we’ll see,” Allen said.
Hill has rushed eight times for 53 yards this season and caught two passes for 2 yards.
Hill was listed as questionable before a Week 8 game against the Indianapolis Colts last year with a pectoral injury and practiced in a non-contact jersey, but he played 29 snaps in that game and scored two touchdowns.
Hill also suffered a rib injury during 2022 training camp and missed a game against the Carolina Panthers in Week 3 of that year. He played the next three games with the injury.
