The world of horror films has grown exponentially, and the fact that Street 2 in India has managed to build a business as big as some of the biggest films made with much bigger budgets than Shraddha Kapoor’s film. That is remarkable. However, anyone who has seen Street 2 certainly hasn’t been able to stop talking about it, and the film has indeed left a lasting aftertaste. The craving for more horror content will naturally make you look for other options. It turns out that Lionsgate Play heard you and is now ready to give you more horror in its next releases. The streamer will re-release the 2020 film The rental on the platform, and this is the same scary horror film starring Jeremy Allen White that made headlines during the pandemic.
Lionsgate Play has released some of the most interesting films in the last two months, more than ever before. In July alone, the streamer gave us Room, Logan Luck, The Arcadian, Replicas, On the wrong trackAnd The Iron Law. Before that there was Dream scenario, Police station, BMEand much more. The biggest stars and the strongest content were everywhere. The rental now joins the same list and is scheduled to be released on the streaming platform soon.

The film is mentioned in upcoming releases on Lionsgate Play, although no release date has been announced yet. However, it is likely that the film will hit theaters in September. Accordingly ColliderDave Franco had said that the idea for The rental came from his personal paranoia about the concept of home sharing. “We trust to stay in a stranger’s house just because there are a few positive reviews online. In reality, while we were filming, new articles appeared every week about homeowners installing cameras in their home. (…) We are all aware of the risks involved in staying in a stranger’s house, but we never think that something bad could actually happen to us,” he said.
Jeremy Allen White, who plays one of the most interesting roles in the film, said: “When I read it, I was rooting for Josh the whole time. I saw this guy who really wanted to be better. He’s dating a woman who I think is way above him. She’s beautiful and intelligent, and I think he has some self-esteem issues, probably because of his older brother. Then he goes on this journey with them, and I feel like he gets a little bit crushed in the process. I think I was kind of drawn to this tragic character who’s trying to be better. But of course, it doesn’t work out the way he wants it to.”
