Hassan Nasrallah killed in Israeli attack in Beirut, IDF confirms

Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah was killed on Friday in an IDF attack on Hezbollah headquarters in Beirut, the IDF said Saturday morning.

Almost 32 years after the founding of the Lebanese terrorist organization Hezbollah, its leader Hassan Nasrallah was killed along with Ali Karaki, Hezbollah’s southern front commander, and other Hezbollah commanders.

The Israeli Air Force attacked Hezbollah headquarters, relying on precise information from the intelligence and defense systems. The headquarters was underground, under a residential building in the Lebanese capital.

The attack, carried out by Israeli Air Force aircraft, targeted Hezbollah’s central headquarters in Dahieh, Beirut Jerusalem Post reported on Friday.

“This is not the end of our toolbox,” said IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi said in a statement following the announcement of Nasrallah’s death.

“Those who threaten the citizens of the State of Israel – we will know how to reach them – in the north, in the south and even in more distant places,” Halevi added.

“After preparing many capabilities for Lebanon for a long time, we started implementing them. This attack was also prepared for a long time and was carried out at exactly the right time,” he continued.

“We are now preparing intensively for the next steps. Finally, I reiterate that we maintain maximum preparedness in all our sectors. All forces, including coordination with other organizations, must be well coordinated and well prepared,” Halevi concluded.

Nasrallah and his top commanders coordinated the attacks

The underground command center was located beneath a residential building, the IDF noted in its report Saturday, where Nasrallah and his top commanders were coordinating terrorist activities against Israel at the time of the attack.

During Nasrallah’s 32-year leadership of Hezbollah, he was responsible for planning and executing several terrorist attacks, including attacks on Israeli civilians and soldiers, as well as international attacks that killed other nationals worldwide.
