Grocery store employee allegedly followed and filmed 9-year-old girl – arrest

BATON ROUGE – A Baton Rouge grocery store employee was arrested Monday on charges of following a 9-year-old girl inside the store and filming her up her skirt.

Jonathan Isaac Gibbs, 24, was arrested for video voyeurism and indecent conduct as a juvenile.

According to the arrest warrant, management at the store received a complaint from a customer on Saturday saying that a man, later identified as Gibbs, followed her daughter on August 5 and filmed her up her skirt.

The woman said the man followed her and her daughter through several aisles of the store for several minutes. He stopped when they stopped, the mother told police. The man walked right behind the family and placed his phone on the floor under the 9-year-old’s skirt, the warrant continues. He then pretended to replenish items and talk to the woman.

This lasted for about 29 minutes, according to surveillance camera footage. The footage also showed that the man did not have any of the items he claimed to have in stock and that he was intentionally filming the girl.

Gibbs was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Jail.

According to the arrest warrant, Gibbs was arrested in 2021 for video voyeurism and was on probation at the time of his arrest.
