Google Doodle celebrates classic popcorn with an interactive game

Any movie experience is incomplete without popcorn, whether you’re watching it in the theater or in the comfort of your own home. From the 2 a.m. snack to the movie companion, Popcorn deserves a lot more credit than it gets. And that’s exactly what today’s Google Doodle does – it celebrates popcorn.
The update isn’t another animated doodle, but to make things exciting, Google has introduced one interactive game.There is only one simple goal: “Don’t get caught!” The game offers the player the option to play “solo” or with his “squad”. And your competition consists of random players from all over the world. This game made Doodles history by allowing “the highest number of players to participate in a game at the same time ever!”
Popcorn has been a constant in the moviegoing experience since the 20th century. It’s ready in minutes, easily affordable, and easy to prepare – meaning vendors didn’t need any really expensive equipment to prepare it. But the best part is that it is not unhealthy like other snacks. As a whole grain, popcorn is rich in fiber, which is good for our digestion and also fills us up.
Popcorn was introduced to movie theaters to give them an economic boost. During the Great DepressionConsumers reportedly started spending more on cheap luxury products like movies and popcorn. Recognizing the pattern, the two sectors joined forces and helped each other grow simultaneously. Initially, only a few vendors were allowed to sell popcorn outside the theater, although they paid a daily fee. However, in the 1940s, theaters set up their own stands in the theater.
The classic buttered popcorn Now there are a few more varieties, from chocolate caramel to cheese popcorn. While some like new flavors, others prefer their popcorn the old-fashioned way. Whatever your preference, popcorn is here to stay.
