Garth Brooks gushed about his wife Trisha Yearwood before he was accused of rape

Garth Brooks gushed about his and Trisha Yearwood’s marriage just days before he was accused of raping and abusing a woman who allegedly worked as his hairdresser and makeup artist.

“The best thing about becoming Ms. Yearwood’s partner is going through the good times but also going through the bad times together because that’s what makes you one,” the 62-year-old country crooner said in an interview with the magazine published Tuesday “People.”

“We have a love that will last beyond this life. I found her in the last life. I’ll find her in the next one.”

Yearwood, 60, also told People in the same interview that they are “best friends” and “really enjoy each other’s company.”

The couple tied the knot in December 2005 after getting engaged earlier that year. They have no children together, but Brooks has three daughters from his first marriage to Sandy Mahl.

On Thursday, a woman who referred to herself as “Jane Roe” filed a lawsuit accusing the “Friends in Low Places” hitmaker of sexual assault and battery in 2019 while she worked for him.

In court documents filed in California, Roe alleged that Brooks raped her in a hotel room during a business trip to Los Angeles in 2019 and then continued to communicate his sexual desires to her, including “a threesome” with Yearwood.

She also accused him of regularly exposing his genitals to her, changing clothes in front of her, openly fantasizing about sex with her and sending her unwanted sexually charged text messages.

Brooks vehemently denied the allegations in a statement to Page Six on Thursday, saying an unnamed person had been threatening him for two months and trying to extort “millions of dollars” from him.

“It was like a loaded gun was being shoved in my face,” he remarked. “Hush money, no matter how much or how little, is still hush money.”

“In my opinion, that means I’m admitting to behavior that I’m incapable of – ugly acts that no human being should ever do to another.”

He also told Page Six that he has filed a lawsuit with the court to prevent the allegations from coming to light.

In his complaint, which was also obtained by Page Six, he wrote that the defendant “is well aware of this

reputation as a decent and caring person” as well as his family and career.

“In fact, this knowledge undoubtedly explains why the defendant threatened to file a lawsuit with a ‘confidential’ demand letter, rather than simply filing a lawsuit to redress her alleged (but untrue) injuries,” he added.

Brooks returned to the stage in Las Vegas on Thursday night and thanked his fans in an Instagram post after his show.
