Former Trump adviser explains the next step she is taking to fire Donald Trump once and for all

Former Trump White House adviser Cassidy Hutchinson said she wasn’t just voting for Democratic candidate Kamala Harris over Republican rival Donald Trump in November’s presidential election.

On Wednesday, Hutchinson, a longtime conservative, told MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell that she would also vote for Democratic candidates in the House and Senate.

Why?

“Just because I think it’s so important that we put this era of Donald Trump behind us so that America can begin to heal,” Hutchinson explained. “And once we get through this period and hopefully can open responsible political debates in the future, we must now focus on defeating Donald Trump.”

Hutchinson served as an adviser to former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, but has since become a fierce critic of the ex-POTUS and even supported President Joe Biden’s re-election campaign before dropping out and supporting his running mate Harris instead.

Trump and his running mate, JD Vance, are a “despicable representation” of the Republican Party, Hutchinson told O’Donnell.

Policies are important, but so is the character of leaders, she added, acknowledging how “scary” it could be for Republicans to potentially secede.

But she warned that Trump and Vance “cannot be trusted with the Constitution, cannot be trusted to uphold our rule of law, and cannot be trusted to pursue responsible policies.”
