A header goal from Sesko was only valid for a few seconds

Start of behavior

The first half was characterized by many close duels, with a corresponding number of fouls and free kicks. Both teams rely primarily on a stable defense and limited risk, but rarely turned on the turbo. To avoid a cliché: people largely neutralized themselves. Opportunities were definitely in short supply. Mainka had the best of the presenter after just 53 seconds and a corner, but his header went over. Only Openda, who couldn’t reach a Sesko lob in the 5-meter area (4th), and Xavi, who missed a keeper Müller (42nd), had any notable chances for Leipzig.

Lots of duels in the first half.

Sesko goal disallowed – Openda does it better

After the break the party slowly got going. With an advantage for RB: Sesko headed a Leipzig free kick that was finally taken dangerously through space to make it 1-0, but it only lasted for a short time: in the video study, the referee recognized a foul and took the goal back (53rd). Seven minutes later, Openda scored in accordance with the law after a remarkable Nusa pass and from an acute angle. The goal was particularly encouraging for the hosts, who only hit the crossbar (Schöppner/68.) or an RB keeper Gulcsi failed (Pieringer, Beck/73.). The pressure on the Leipzig goal was immense at times, and RB was shaking for victory until injury time. Not least because counterattacks ended without a finish or only with a hit on the post (Openda/88th).

Openda is the match winner again
