Footage of the first interaction between police and Tyreek Hill surfaced

The truth about Tyreek Hill’s arrest by police on Sunday morning before the Jaguars game against the Dolphins at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami continues to leak out.

Various reporters have the camera footage. Here is the first interaction between Hill and police officers.

The situation quickly spiraled out of control when Hill reprimanded the officer for knocking on his car window. Hill then demanded a ticket because he was afraid of being late.

Hill first rolls down his window. Then he rolls it back up. The officer tells him to roll it back down. Then the officer opens the door and drags him out of the car.

“When we tell you to do something, you do it,” an officer tells Hill. “You understand? You understand? Not what you want. But what we’re telling you. You’re a little confused.”

The reaction seems excessive. But Hill also seemed uncooperative, especially when he rolled up his window and refused to roll it back down.

The reason why the window should be rolled down is obvious. Officers need to see if the driver is carrying a gun or other weapon. If the window is tinted and rolled up, officers are at a clear disadvantage.

The message to anyone who is stopped is clear. Just do what you are told, unless you are asked to do something completely unreasonable. It is not unreasonable to be asked to roll down the window and then leave it down.

Nevertheless, the reaction seems exaggerated.

So it’s possible that Hill didn’t handle the situation optimally and that the police went too far when they dragged him out of the car and handcuffed him.
