Florida drivers can expect low gas pumps on Labor Day weekend

“Florida residents … will likely see the lowest gasoline prices in three years this holiday weekend.”

Gasoline prices in Florida averaged $3.29 per gallon of regular gasoline on Sunday, the lowest daily average in two months, according to AAA-The Auto Club Group’s weekly briefing.

The national average rose eight cents early last week, but then reversed course and fell nine cents by the weekend.

“Low oil prices have kept prices at the pump in check,” said Mark Jenkins, spokesman for the group. “Floridians planning to travel over Labor Day weekend will likely find the lowest gas prices for the holiday weekend in three years.”

Last year, Florida drivers paid $3.68 per gallon on Labor Day. On the 2022 holiday, it was $3.52 per gallon and in 2021, it was $3.02 per gallon.
