The flow around the remnant circulation associated with Francine will continue to bring rain and isolated thunderstorms through tonight. We’ll wake up with more rain on the radar on Saturday, especially along and east of I-65. Forecasts show this rainy weather increasing westward throughout the afternoon and evening. The risk of flash flooding will continue into the evening hours. The WPC forecast continues to show over 4 to 5 inches of rain for some locations through early next week. The possibility of isolated showers and thunderstorms will continue Sunday; however, the heaviest rainfall will move west of our area beginning Monday. There will be no outright rains on either Sunday or Monday, but plan for the possibility of a storm delay.

Next week: Rain chances will be scattered on Monday and Tuesday with highs around 80 degrees Fahrenheit. It will stay dry through midweek, but rain chances could increase again later in the week. We are tracking another disturbance that could develop into a tropical system off the Carolinas. Forecasts show this system moving north of our area, but the circulation could move in our direction late next week.
