Expired beef and improperly stored eggs found in Phoenix-area restaurants

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Each week, Arizona’s Family looks for restaurants that have recently been inspected by the Maricopa County Environmental Services Department. Our Dirty Dining Report selects restaurants with the most “risk factors,” which inspectors consider to be serious violations of health codes. Here are the Valley restaurants that didn’t make it for August 21, 2024:

Anaya’s Fresh Mexican Restaurant – 7520 S. Rural Road, Tempe

3 violations

• Ice and straws in a hand basin
• Organic material on the blade of a can opener
• Cooked beef and chicken stored beyond the best-before date

Ike’s Love and Sandwiches – 7420 S. Rural Rd., Tempe

3 violations

• Food residues under the equipment and throughout the sandwich production line
• Sausage products are not stored at the correct temperature
• Cleaning products hanging over the sink

• Slicer with accumulation of food leftovers
• Cooked steak and chicken not kept hot enough

Delicious box – 1430 W. Warner Rd., Gilbert

3 violations

• Hand basin full of dishes
• 2 containers with strong organic growth
• Raw beef stored over open soup containers

Thai House Restaurant – 1155 S. Power Rd., Mesa

4 violations

• Cooked chicken out of temperature
• Fried rice is no longer hot
• Raw eggs stored over broccoli
• No certified manager on duty
