Erotic shop in Noblesville has to close again

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (WISH) – A Hamilton County judge has ruled that adult entertainment store My Inner Baby must immediately close its new retail store.

The judge ruled that the store violated the city’s building codes.

In 2022, My Inner Baby opened its first location at 15480 Herriman Blvd. The city sent the store a letter saying it was violating the Unified Development Ordinance because it was operating as a sex shop in an area zoned for industrial use. The Board of Zoning Appeal (BZA) denied My Inner Baby’s appeal and owner Ryan Polokoff closed the store.

The store sells adult diapers for those with incontinence, as well as onezees and baby accessories for role play. Polokoff told News 8 that war veterans and others suffering from trauma use role play as a form of stress management.

My Inner Baby appealed the BZA’s decision in Hamilton District Court, but the action was dismissed because My Inner Baby failed to timely file a copy of the hearing transcript.

On June 3, My Inner Baby opened a new location at 15529 Stony Creek Way, a mile from the old location. Polokoff told News 8 the city considers his business a sex shop because it uses the hashtag “ABDL” (Adult Baby Diaper Lovers). Polokoff dropped the moniker when he opened his new location.

In his ruling, Judge Michael Casati stated that My Inner Baby’s second store was also located in an industrial area and that Polokoff should have asked the city for a zoning exemption before opening.

Polokoff told News 8 via text message that he would appeal Judge Casati’s ruling.

“The City of Noblesville appreciates the court’s swift decision upholding the position regarding zoning violations that the City has taken in three separate court cases. To our knowledge, the company is complying with the decision. We will continue to monitor ongoing compliance.”
