Elton John jokes about health and organ harvesting at documentary premiere

Elton John is running out of organs to remove and joints to replace. At the New York premiere of his documentary Elton John: Never too lateThe music icon gave a brief overview of his health journey, listing: “I don’t have tonsils, adenoids or an appendix. I don’t have a prostate. I don’t have a right hip, left knee or right knee. In fact, the only thing I have left is my left hip.”

His Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour ended in July 2023. “As you know, I have decided to stop touring because I am 77 years old,” John said. “I did everything I had to do: play. I succeeded. I’ve been there and done it.”

Still, even without touring, John has maintained his connection to the art of making music, which he says has been key to getting him through “good times and bad” over the years. “I still have to make room because I will still have music in my life. But the most important things in my life are David, Zachary and Elijah and my family and friends. I found utopia and I’m so excited,” he said, adding, “Even when I was in my darkest times, I was still making music, I was still recording music, so I have music to thank for that “That she is the greatest thing.” It has been an incredible inspiration to me throughout my life.”

The film, which opens in select theaters in the US and UK on November 15, follows the musician on his farewell tour with insights into his family life and archival footage of footage from his decades-long career. The documentary will stream on Disney+ starting December 13th.
