Elon Musk reacts to Taylor Swift’s support for Harris-Walz

After weeks of speculation, Taylor Swift finally made a political statement last night. Her support for Vice President Kamala Harris did not seem to go down well with Elon Musk, who shared his opinion on the musician’s statement on X.

“Good, Taylor… you win… I will give you a child and protect your cats with my life,” Musk wrote on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, in an apparent dig at Swift, who signed her support with “childless cat lady.”

Musk, who is supporting former President Donald Trump in the race for the White House, later also agreed with an X user who commented that Swift’s support was “in line with demographic trends,” adding that the Democratic Party is strengthened by unmarried women.

Trump-Harris debate: An overview of last night’s winners (and losers)

How many children does Elon Musk have?

Musk is said to have fathered twelve children with at least three different mothers. The founder of Tesla, SpaceX and Neuralink has three children with Canadian singer Grimes, six children with his ex-wife, Canadian author Justine Wilson, and three children with Neuralink CEO Shivon Zilis.

Musk and Wilson’s firstborn child died at the age of 10 weeks. His youngest child with Zilis was reportedly born earlier this year.

Musk is concerned about population decline and sees the birth of children as a solution, wrote Walter Isaacson in the biography “Elon Musk”.

Swift supports Harris

Shortly after the presidential debate ended on Tuesday night, Swift announced that she would support Harris and Tim Walz in the upcoming election. Sharing a photo of herself with her cat Benjamin Button, Swift said Trump’s use of AI-generated images showing her supporting him made her realize that she needed to be clear and transparent about her actual plans for the election.

In her four-paragraph recommendation, Swift urged her 283 million followers to educate themselves and cast their votes before the fall election.

“Like many of you, I watched tonight’s debate. If you haven’t already, now is a good time to educate yourself on the issues at hand and these candidates’ stances on the issues that matter most to you,” Swift wrote. “As a voter, I make sure to watch and read everything I can find about their proposed policies and plans for this country.”

The pop star captioned the post with the self-description “Childless Cat Lady,” taking a swipe at JD Vance’s now viral comments about people without children.

This is not Swift’s first time endorsing a political candidate. She endorsed President Joe Biden and Harris in 2020, and she supported U.S. Senate candidate Phil Bredesen and U.S. Rep. Jim Cooper in his re-election campaign in Tennessee’s 5th Congressional District in 2018.
