Musician Dave Grohl has announced some personal news about his family.
The frontman of the Foo Fighters announced on Tuesday that he had recently become a father again. In a statement on his Instagram page, he wrote that his little daughter was born “outside” his marriage to his wife Jordyn Blum.
“I recently became a father to a daughter born outside of my marriage,” Grohl wrote. “I plan to be a loving and supportive father to her.”
“I love my wife and children and am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness,” the former Nirvana band member continued in his statement. “We are grateful for your consideration toward all of the children affected as we move forward together.”
A spokesperson for Grohl had no further comment beyond the Instagram statement.
Grohl has been married to director Blum since 2003. The couple have three daughters together: Violet (18), Harper (15) and Ophelia (10).
The rock’n’roll legend did not reveal any information about the mother of his newborn daughter in his post on Tuesday.
Grohl and Blum have kept their relationship and private lives largely secret over the years, occasionally appearing together as a family on red carpets.
They were recently spotted together at the Wimbledon tournament in London in July during the European leg of the Foo Fighters tour.
