Davante Adams is asking the Raiders to trade an NFL bombshell

Davante Adams wants to leave Las Vegas.

The Raiders wide receiver, who has been linked to the Jets for some time, has told the organization he would prefer to be traded, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

While a deal isn’t imminent, the news comes amid growing speculation that Adams’ time in Sin City is coming to an end sooner rather than later and hours after he gave a noncommittal answer when asked if he’d never have one again should downplay anything other than Raider.

“All I can control is this conversation we’re having here. And when we’re done with this, the only thing I can control is what I do next,” Adams said during a Tuesday morning interview on “Up & Adams with Kay Adams.”

“I’m about to get up and have a nice workout and that’s all I can control.”

Rumors continue to swirl about a connection between the Jets and Adams, despite Adams previously repeatedly asserting that he chose the Raiders.

Now that the situation in Las Vegas appears to have changed, the two teams are likely to be linked again, especially after being asked by Kay Adams about missing Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

“How could you not do that?” Adams replied.

In the last 24 hours, discussion of a possible Adams move appeared to intensify after a screenshot circulated on social media that appeared to show Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce liking a post on Instagram, which indicated that the receiver may have been swapped.

Additionally, a Las Vegas Review-Journal report published Tuesday quoted a league source saying the Raiders were open to the idea of trading Adams and that the relationship between the Raiders coach and the star wide receiver is improving have worsened.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Vegas would “consider” a trade package that included a second-round pick and additional compensation.

During Tuesday morning’s interview, Adams said in reference to the Instagram post that he hadn’t heard from his head coach and “didn’t really know exactly what it was about.”

“It’s one of those situations where I just keep my head down, do my thing and let things fall where they may,” Adams said. “Since this became the case there has been no communication with anyone on the team, but it’s a bit like the weekly question ‘What about Tae?’ Thing. It’s always some kind of drama. But in the end, 17 doesn’t manage any of it.”

“So people can say whatever they want, but I just relax and try to be the example of not being agitated, just going with it and doing what I have to do.”

Adams said Tuesday that it’s “getting annoying to have his name caught up in constant trade speculation,” although it’s unlikely to go away any time soon.

The relationship between Adams and Rodgers from their time together in Green Bay has certainly sparked some speculation about the receiver possibly coming to New York.

While Adams dismissed the idea that he was the driving force behind rumors of a possible reunion with Rodgers, he waxed poetic about the man he called a teammate for eight seasons with the Packers.

“The thought of playing with Aaron is obviously great,” Adams said on the “Club Shay Shay” podcast in July. “I already know what that’s like – and that’s similar to the reason I came here and reunited with Derek (Carr), because I was familiar with him. And having that gives you a bit more confidence than starting over with someone you’ve never played with before, and it helps if they’re the best to ever play the game – or at least that’s how I feel me like that. I don’t know what you think, but that’s certainly how I feel, and (Rodgers) gave me the opportunity to show the world what I can do.”

Adams had 669 catches, 8,121 yards and 73 touchdowns in those eight seasons in Green Bay as Rodgers’ teammate.
