Dates and tournament schedule for the autumn classic

The 2024 MLB season takes October baseball quite literally, because when the calendar shows the spooky season, the MLB postseason begins on the same day. With only three days left until the end of the regular season, it’s not yet clear which teams will participate in this year’s playoffs.

The Minnesota Twins, Seattle Mariners and Atlanta Braves are all currently outside the playoff bubble and have chances to secure a postseason spot on the final weekend of the season. Even if any of those teams can squeeze into the playoffs, they face tough tests in the wild-card round, likely against the Houston Astros in the American League or the Milwaukee Brewers in the National League.
