When officers arrived, the man shouted at them and gave them the middle finger, police said. He then drove away.

Half an hour later, the 56-year-old returned to the police station and was subsequently reported for disturbing the peace.

At the police station, he pretended to have been injured several times by police officers, the report says. He also pretended to have fallen from a seat about 60 cm high, police said.

According to the report, the man has faked injuries in the past, including intentionally driving into a Darien police car.

The man’s neighbors recently complained about him at a city council meeting, with one calling him an “absolute menace.”

Over four days in late July, the man was charged twice with disturbing the peace after playing loud music late into the night, police said.
