Dak Prescott: We need to reorient ourselves and react

The Cowboys’ first home game on Sunday looked a lot like their last home game of the 2023 season.

Green Bay ran more than four yards per carry and scored on six of its first seven possessions, knocking the Cowboys out of the playoffs. The Saints were even more effective on Sunday, running nearly five yards per carry and scoring on their first six possessions and winning 44-19.

Quarterback Dak Prescott threw multiple interceptions in each loss to broaden the comparisons, but was more interested in pointing out the team’s performance. Victory in Week One about the Browns and how the team must avoid getting too excited or depressed about a particular result.

“I mean, I’ve talked about how much meat we left on the bone offensively, and that’s just why you can’t listen to other people’s opinions and then respectfully read what you guys write,” Prescott said, via the team’s website. “I mean, yeah, you guys maybe took this team to a higher level than we should have been, and now we just have to restart. We have to respond. We’re not going to go undefeated, we haven’t done that in 50 years. Wow. Surprise. So it’s about getting back to it and finding an opportunity to respond to put the best team on the field next week.”

Their chance to respond will come against an 0-2 Ravens team that will do everything it can to win, so the Cowboys will have to play better than they did in their last two home games.
