Conclusion: MVP candidate Josh Allen and Buffalo Bills destroy the Jacksonville Jaguars

The Buffalo Bills beat the Jacksonville Jaguars so badly that our sister site Big Cat Country published its postgame recap. before the end of the first half. The Buffalo Bills’ offense was unstoppable and the defense held up amazingly, forcing the Jaguars into a pass-heavy attack very early on.

Josh Allen is the MVP of the league so far

Buffalo’s quarterback is the second-leading passing touchdown player in the NFL (7, Sam Darnold has 8), but when you add in his 2 rushing touchdowns, he’s the league’s leading scorer. He was electric in the first half, completing 22 of 28 passes for 247 yards and four TD passes. He is the first quarterback with four passing touchdowns in the first half. Monday Night Football since 2007. The touchdowns were also heavily dependent on Allen’s performance. On the first touchdown against Dalton Kincaid, Allen ran right to buy time and found the sophomore tight end running across the defensive line. On the last touchdown before halftime, Allen again had to evade pressure, but this time to the left, before using a hand wave to find his third running back at the goal line. He added 3 runs for 22 yards, including fourth and third down conversions to extend the offense.

I also want to personally thank Josh Allen for sliding at several points in the game instead of taking hits. They didn’t have to make Josh jump tonight.

Buffalo’s defense made the Jaguars one-dimensional

Jacksonville had less than 65 yards at halftime and was in catch-up mode to start the second half. On their first drive of the third quarter, they had 3 runs on 10 plays, including a 4th-and-1 conversion. On their second drive, they had 3 runs on 16 plays, including a 4th-and-1 conversion. The third drive of the half ended with four runs and zero runs scored. At that point, the Bills sent their backups into the game and the Jags played for respect. The Bills had four sacks on the night, the Damar Hamlin interception and a late fumble recovery. We thought defense was the biggest concern last weekend, but Week 3 was different.

Fast start from both sides of the ball

Buffalo led 34-3 at halftime. It was the largest halftime deficit in Jaguars history. The lead is the third largest in Bills franchise history and the largest since November 1992!

Everyone eats

The Bills used the “everybody eats” motto this season when they replaced Stefon Diggs and embodied it throughout the game. 10 different Bills caught passes in the first 35 minutes and the four touchdowns went to four different receivers. It is only the 10th time in team history that the number of pass catchers reached double digits. In total, six different Bills scored touchdowns and Tyler Bass was the seventh player to score. This season, the Bills lead the NFL with 6 different players catching touchdown passes.
