Colts QB Anthony Richardson (oblique) inactive vs. Jaguars; Joe Flacco begins

Flacco is now expected to start for his fifth NFL team. He spent 11 seasons with the Baltimore Ravens, including winning Super Bowl XLVIII MVP. He then played for the Denver Broncos, the New York Jets and the Cleveland Browns, whom he rescued from the couch last season, helping the team to the playoffs and winning the AP NFL Comeback Player of the Year for his achievements.

Flacco appeared to be in 2023 form for the Colts in Week 4 when he replaced Richardson and threw for 168 yards and two touchdowns against a stout Steelers defense.

Flacco, playing in his 17th NFL season, would be tasked with doing something no Colts starter has done since Andrew Luck: beat the Jaguars on the road. Indy has lost nine straight road games against the Jaguars (eight in Florida and one in England) since Luck and the Colts won 44-17 at EverBank Field on September 21, 2014. Flacco helped the Ravens to a 23-21 win against the Cleveland Browns on the same day.

Flacco is 4-4 as a starter against the Jaguars, including a Week 14 win with the Browns last season in which he threw for 311 yards and three touchdowns.

Flacco and the Colts (2-2) face the winless Jaguars (0-4) on Sunday.
