Coconut Creek is looking forward to a new fire station that will serve the central area of the city.

The new fire station 113 will on Main Street at Coconut Creek behind Monarch High School. According to Fire Chief Jeff Gary, it is not known exactly where the station will be located because work on the site is not yet complete..

According to Gary, the new station will house a fire engine, an ambulance and a large pickup truck for the battalion chief. It will also include living quarters for firefighters, training rooms and an area for administrative offices.

This new station is needed because the current station serving the area is located in a temporary building and is inadequate for the emergency needs of the community. The design of the station is still being worked on.

“We need a newmodern fire station. Fire Station 113 will serve a growing community and we need this station for our firefighters”, said Gary.

A Coconut Creek representative presented preliminary information on the new station during a meeting of the Coral Springs Coconut Creek Regional Chamber of Commerce on August 20 at the Coconut Creek Community Center. The station is a key part of the city’s budget plans.
