Coach expresses concerns about Rodgers amid Adams rumors

Multiple members Members of the NFL community said after the New York Jets fell to 2-3 this season with a 23-17 loss to the Minnesota Vikings at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London that the Jets were disgruntled star quarterback Aaron Rodgers The Las Vegas Raiders need to reunite receiver Davante Adams as quickly as possible.

At least one coach “who watched the Jets play on Sunday” suggested that missing Adams isn’t the only thing bothering Rodgers this fall.

“You know the slide and then take two steps and then he steps out every time (while with the Green Bay Packers)? He slides, takes two steps.” And will now be released,” the coach said during a conversation with Rodgers Mike Sando from The Athletic. “He needs to watch the film, be honest with himself and say, ‘I’m broken, I’m not moving as fast anymore, so throw it away.’ More games with a 55-60 percent completion rate, not 70.”

Other said previously They felt Rodgers, who turns 41 this December, looked his age heading into the 2022 season when he suffered from an illness broken thumb on his throwing hand in Week 5 and later went under with a rib injury in Week 12. Rodgers then suffered a torn Achilles tendon in four offensive snaps during the 2023 season and SNY’s Connor Hughes noted that the future Hall of Famer struggled with injuries to both knees before being hampered by a lower ankle sprain against Minnesota.

Per Rich Cimini From ESPN, Jets head coach Robert Saleh told reporters on Monday that “all preliminary things say (Rodgers) will be OK” for the primetime game between the Jets and the 3-2 Buffalo Bills at MetLife Stadium on April 14 .October.

Adams became Rodgers’ favorite target when she were teammates with the Packers from 2014 through the 2021 season. New York’s offense would seemingly be better with Adams as part of the passing attack, but the Jets landing the 31-year-old may not result in Rodgers turning back the clock to the fall of 2021.

“He looked great against (the New England Patriots).” Couple weeks ago, But it’s broken and at 40 it can no longer accelerate the B gap just like before,” the unnamed coach added of Rodgers.

Accordingly ESPN stats, Rodgers finished the weekend ranked 21st in the league among qualified players with an adjusted QBR of 49.1 and 26th with a passer rating of 81.6 on the season. He threw seven touchdown passes and four interceptions through the first five weeks of the season, but three of those picks came against the Vikings.

It remains to be seen whether the Jets will acquire Adams before the November 5th trade deadline. Even if such a deal were to go through this week, it would be unlikely that Adams would play against the Bills, considering he is dealing with a hamstring injury that could sideline him at least next Monday.
