CLEMSON – Baseball is coming to Death Valley.

The Savannah Bananas Baseball Club announced it will play the Party Animals on April 26 at Memorial Stadium. It is believed to be the first baseball game ever played in this football stadium.

According to a news release, tickets will be sold and managed by the Bananas organization, but Clemson is expected to generate revenue from the suite and club areas of the stadium. The university is also expected to be able to make money through parking and concessions.

Clemson athletic director Graham Neff has talked about using Memorial Stadium for more events in recent years. Last year, the Stadium Golf Tour visited Death Valley and allowed fans to hit some great shots on the soccer field.

Suite holders have the right of first refusal when attending the game. However, most fans must enter a lottery by November 1st to purchase tickets.

The 81,000-seat Clemson Stadium offers the Bananas a chance to break their club attendance record. The current record is 45,000, set during a visit to Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia on September 22nd.

According to Guinness World Records, the most people ever attended a baseball game: 115,300 watched the 2008 Los Angeles Dodgers and Boston Red Sox game at the LA Coliseum.
