Christian Pulisic scores fifth in a row for the first time in his career

Christian Pulisic scored for the first time in his career in his fifth consecutive game for club and country as his AC Milan side secured a 3-0 win over Leece in Italy’s Serie A on Friday.

Pulisic’s 43rd-minute strike was his fourth goal in as many games for Milan, while he also scored in the USA’s friendly against New Zealand earlier this month.

Milan scored three goals in five minutes just before half-time on Friday to secure victory at the San Siro.

Álvaro Morata gave the home team the lead after 38 minutes with a glancing header from a free kick from Theo Hernández. Hernandez then ran on to a pass from Rafael Leão and shot the ball under the roof of the net from a tight angle two minutes later before Pulisic made it 3-0.

It was the American’s fifth goal in seven games this season and his total number of goals and assists since joining the Rossoneri in June last year has risen to 32, more than anyone else in Serie A.

With ten minutes left, Davide Bartesaghi was shown a red card for Milan, but it was too late to give Lecce any hopes of a comeback.

The win gives Milan 11 points and is tied with Torino at the top of the league, although the Turin club still has a game in hand against Lazio on Sunday.

Lecce remains fourth-bottom in the 20-team league with just one win and five points from its first six games.
