Although Phaedra Parks I did not ask for it, Cheryl Burke gives advice for her run on Dancing with the stars. She thinks Phaedra needs to focus less on winning and more on enjoying the process, otherwise she could lose her personality.
Well, it’s not that Phaedra lacks personality. That’s why we fell in love with her on Real Housewives of Atlanta and why she keeps getting asked to appear on reality shows. However, Cheryl explained why DWTS is a whole different game.
Cheryl Burke has concerns about Phaedra Parks’ personality
The former DWTS pro spoke to People about season 33 of the show. When talking about Phaedra, she said that the RHOA star may be too focused on winning and trying to make her partner happy. Instead, she should just focus on her steps.
“She’s an entrepreneur. I understand her. I think that’s fine if you have other aspects of life in mind, but on this show, if you only think about wanting to win the Mirrorball, you’re going to achieve the opposite,” Cheryl explained.
She continued, “I think it’s more about testing their presence, really taking it step by step, and it’s the details that matter.”
Cheryl says she saw many celebrities come to the show with high hopes of winning the trophy, but as the weeks went by, all the excitement began to fade.
Cheryl added: “We know she has rhythm, we know she’s full of personality, but if she’s just focused on winning, she’s not going to have personality and you’re going to see it. I can see it.”
The fact that Cheryl “sees it already” is interesting considering only one episode aired. In the season 33 premiere, we saw Phaedra and Val Chmerkovskiy score a 19. It’s not perfect, but she made us laugh every time they gave her the mic. Cheryl was clearly not impressed. She gave Phaedra some final advice for the future.
Cheryl said, “Dance like it’s your last dance because you never know.”
