CeeDee Lamb recovers for Cowboys vs. Giants: ‘We needed that’

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ — There actually is such a thing as a bounceback game, but what CeeDee Lamb was able to produce to help the Dallas Cowboys over the New York Giants essentially had an entire trampoline attached to it.

After the loss to the Baltimore Ravens, he received a lot of criticism from outside the building about the optics of his frustrated comments and then remained silent for a few days to collect his thoughts – his questions and answers involving the media The All-Pro receiver takes over responsibility and promises that “things will get better.”

“Of course it’s more fun here,” he said after the 20-15 win, in which he had seven catches on eight targets for 98 yards and a touchdown. “I mean, when you lose two games in a row, you kind of get into a phase where everyone’s kind of tense and you’re ready to play again and kind of get it over with. It was good for us… (that) was what we needed.

“The division game put us in the right position.”

This puts the Cowboys in a much more stable position at 2-2 as the calendar moves toward October and the currently undefeated Pittsburgh Steelers wait on the other side of the mini-bye week.

And while Lamb still feels like the Cowboys’ offense left some “flesh on the bone” in the second half after scoring both touchdowns in the first half and failing to find pay dirt in the final two quarters, Is there chemistry between him and Dak? Prescott looked hotter than ever.

The mistakes against the Ravens apparently served as a learning aid.

“Man, I’m just sticking to my guns and believing in the person I am and the player I am again,” said Lamb, whose Week 3 frustration stemmed from disappointment in himself. “I have complete confidence in myself, my abilities and my talent, and the same goes for the coaches. Everything that happened in the last game was not personal.”

“It’s my will to win and I love winning. I hate losing.”

Lamb also took part in the rushing attack, and while that aspect of his game wasn’t as productive this week as it has been in previous weeks, he never misses an opportunity to get the ball into his hands – everyone on the planet knows what he can do as soon as he does he has it.

“Whatever it takes,” he said. “Whatever it takes. I’m grateful for the opportunity, excited to be able to do what I love and ultimately come out with a win again.”

The Cowboys still have a lot of fine-tuning to do going forward, but based on what they’ve seen over the past two weeks, Lamb and Co. don’t exactly look like a gift horse.

And especially when the victory was not a gift at all.
