Casagrande: Alabama still owns Georgia and should be No. 1 in the polls

This is an opinion column.

The song captured Jalen Milroe.

As he prepared to go live on ABC, the Alabama quarterback turned to his musical classmates, who played them the half-truth of “Rammer Jammer.” Arms raised and demanding more, the previously doubtful passer who once sat on the bench was in no rush for the TV interview.

Not to mention the fact that the Crimson Tide went out To beat up Georgia to barely escape his dignity.

Alabama 41, Georgia 34 was a story of survival and some undeniable truths.

Kalen DeBoer is real.

Ryan Williams is a monster.

Milroe was the only Heisman candidate on the field.

And Alabama is expected to be No. 1 in Sunday’s polls after the country experienced its latest wave of terror with a full range of emotions against Georgia.

The storylines shifted, but the outcome remained unchanged. Georgia is still owned by the Crimson Tide. This time it was Alabama’s turn and nearly blew a huge lead on a night that felt eerily like the nightmare Iron Bowl of 2010.

For 13 football seconds, visions of Cam Newton danced in the depths of Alabama’s subconscious – a memory that couldn’t weigh down the crowned prince of football catching. Williams was just three years old in Mobile when Alabama’s 24-0 lead turned into a 28-27 Auburn win.

He rose to snatch the 75-yard circus catch that ended the brief panic that gripped Bryant-Denny. The 28-0 lead in the second quarter suddenly turned into a 34-33 deficit as Milroe shot downfield to the young man who will be eligible to vote in his first presidential election in 2028.
