Browns DE Myles Garrett surprises fans at the Muni Lot before season opener

CLEVELAND — Myles Garrett is already a fan favorite in Cleveland. It’s hard to imagine Browns fans could like him any more than they already do — but he may have found a way Sunday before the team’s season opener against the Dallas Cowboys.

Before heading to Huntington Bank Field, Garrett made a surprise stop at the tailgate party capital, the Muni Lot.

Garrett drove up in his vintage car and participated in several tailgate parties, surprising fans by encouraging them to chant “Here we go Brownies!” and taking photos with the groups.

“Myles Garrett showed up at our tailgate party. He chose us,” said one fan.

Fans chanted things like “MVP!” and “At least two sacks today, Myles!” as Garrett walked through the Muni parking lot.

The Browns’ star defensive end and reigning Defensive Player of the Year wanted to show his fans how important they are to him and the team. He spent some time with them before his start and started the season on a high note.

He was also joined by Cleveland Cavaliers star Donovan Mitchell.

“We were just sitting there and heard this loud engine noise and we were like, ‘Who is this guy? What’s going on?’ All of a sudden, Myles Garrett and Donovan Mitchell jumped out of a car and were hanging out on our tailgate chanting with us. It was unbelievable,” said another fan.

Garrett went from meeting the fans straight to the game, where he tried to lead the Browns to another dominant defensive season and start the year with a win against the Cowboys.
